Welcome to the website of the Anglican Parishes of
Petite Riviere & New Dublin. This website is a work in progress (as we are in our
Christian lives).
We are seeking to be a faithful body Anglican Christians
knowing and serving and living in Christ on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in Lunenburg County.
Our churches are located in seven
villages along the coast, in one inland village and on one of the LaHave
Islands (see map) (from the LaHave River to a
little beyond Hell Bay!). We are a part of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward
Island in the Anglican Church of Canada.
We use the Book of Common Prayer in our Sunday
worship and to guide our daily devotions (encouraging
daily prayer and
daily reading of the Bible) to offer worship that we hope
is acceptable to God (if our hearts be right) and to have our minds and hearts and souls shaped
by its reformed catholic theology and spirituality.
I hope you will be able to
join us in worship to praise and
give thanks to God.
Blessings in Christ,
David Phillips, Rector
Being ever
mindful of the inestimable love of God shown us
in Jesus Christ who has washed us in His own Blood, made us
children of God, members of his Body, inheritors of the
Kingdom, and even partakers of the Divine nature; and
Responding
with His Spirit of love to our call to be lights
set on a hill, the salt of the earth, ambassadors for Christ
entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation and stewards of the divine
mysteries; and
Desiring
that holiness without which no one will see the Lord; and
Agreeing to bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the
law of Christ (being quick to forgive one another);
We offer,
in a spirit of deep thankfulness and humility, ourselves,
our souls and bodies, to be reasonable, holy and living
sacrifices unto God.
